We’ll collect you from Johannesburg in the morning for the scenic drive east toward the Kruger region. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed into a memorable elephant interaction — a unique chance to meet these gentle giants, touch their rough-textured skin, and learn about their intricate social behaviours alongside an experienced handler. After this inspiring experience, enjoy a delicious dinner at your first lodge stay — Hippo Hollow Country Estate — followed by a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of the African wild.

Start your day with an early breakfast before setting out on a private 4×4 game drive into Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s most biodiverse wildernesses. With an expert guide at the helm, you’ll explore vast habitats in search of the Big Five and a dazzling array of wildlife — from towering elephants to shy leopards tucked in the shade. Our route includes comfort breaks at rest camps where you can stretch your legs and enjoy the park’s backdrop. At midday we transfer you to the exquisite Mjejane River Lodge, sitting alongside the serene Crocodile River. Here the bush unfolds around you: wildlife wanders freely through the gardens, and the lodge’s warm hospitality invites you to relax with lunch, comfortable luxury, and views of Africa’s captivating landscapes. In the afternoon, we head out again in your private vehicle for more game viewing — perfect for spotting animals gathering at waterholes as the light softens. Your final morning begins before sunrise with another private safari drive, when the park’s residents are most active. After breakfast back at the lodge and some quiet reflection, we’ll begin the scenic transfer back to Johannesburg, filled with memories of safaris, sunsets, and the rhythmic heartbeat of Africa’s wild places.

The itinerary is arranged for your party, with private guiding or private game drive elements according to the confirmed plan. We will spell out exactly which parts are private before booking.

Kruger is a larger and wilder safari region, so it is the better choice if safari is a major part of your trip. Cape Town safaris are useful when time is limited or malaria-free travel is the priority.

If you are staying in Cape Town, you will usually fly to Johannesburg or the nearest suitable airport before the safari arrangement begins. We can advise on how the timing fits together.

No. Kruger gives excellent wildlife opportunities, but no ethical safari can guarantee specific sightings. The private format helps with focus and pacing, not control over animal movement.

  • Pick-up and drop-off services are available at your accommodation within a 15 km radius of the City Centre and nearby surrounding areas.
  • Please note: Due to high demand, this package is not available from the 10th of December until the 8th of January.

Flexible & Fair Cancellation Policy

  • Free cancellation up to 14 days before your tour date.
  • 50% refund for cancellations 7-13 days before the tour.
  • Within 7 days, tours are non-refundable, but we’ll do our best to reschedule where possible.
  • If weather forces us to cancel (e.g. Table Mountain cableway closure), we’ll adjust the itinerary or refund that portion.
