Tour Overview

Why you'll love this tour

The Cape Safari 2-Day Getaway is a short safari escape from Cape Town with enough time to properly settle into the reserve. Travel inland through big Western Cape scenery, arrive at a malaria-free private game reserve, and ease into the rhythm of lodge life, guided game drives, good meals and wide-open Karoo views.

With an overnight stay included, the experience has far more breathing room than a single-day safari. There is time for a relaxed arrival, an early-evening game drive, a night in the reserve and another wildlife outing before the journey back to Cape Town.

It is ideal if you want the feeling of a safari break without flying to Kruger or adding several extra days to your trip. Think fresh air, open landscapes, lodge comfort and the thrill of heading out with a ranger to see what the reserve has in store.

Trip Itinerary

We’ll pick you up from Cape Town and begin our journey toward the brilliant landscapes of the Klein Karoo, passing through grape-rich valleys and fruit-growing regions like Ceres. When we arrive at the reserve, welcome drinks will be waiting to cool you down and toast the start of your safari adventure. Soon after, enjoy a relaxed lunch under shady trees or in a rustic boma-style restaurant with views across the plains.

In the late afternoon, climb aboard an open-air safari vehicle and set out with an expert ranger, listening for hooves on grass and eyes trained for lions, rhinos, zebra and more. As the sun slides toward the horizon, we’ll pause to watch the bush come alive in a golden glow — the perfect moment to savour African wildlife up close. After a memorable drive, we’ll return to the lodge for a sumptuous five-course dinner and a comfortable overnight stay in your luxury Ambassador Suite accommodation.

Wake up with a hearty breakfast and enjoy your morning at leisure — perhaps a stroll near the lodge or a coffee on the deck. Then it’s time for another thrilling game drive in our open-top 4×4, searching for animals that roam this incredible reserve. Time and ranger guidance permitting, you might find yourself walking alongside gentle giraffes — a rare and memorable safari moment.

After a delicious lunch in the wild setting, our journey back to Cape Town begins. Travelling through the scenic Huguenot Tunnel and back into the heart of the Western Cape, you’ll return home with stories of sunsets over plains, wide wildlife sightings and a memorable safari experience.

Tour Questions

The two-day option gives you more time at the reserve, a lodge stay and wildlife viewing at better parts of the day. It also feels less compressed than a same-day return from Cape Town.

Yes. The Western Cape reserves used for this style of safari are malaria-free, which makes them practical for many families and travellers with limited time.

It depends on your expectations. It is a convenient Cape safari lodge experience, while Kruger is a larger wilderness destination and usually deserves its own trip.

We usually collect from hotels and guesthouses in central Cape Town and nearby areas. If you are staying further out, we will confirm the most practical pickup point when you enquire.
